Litigation Associate Attorney, Commercial & Class Action
Overview
You will manage complex commercial, consumer, and class action disputes from inception through resolution in the Washington, D.C. office of a nationally recognized Am Law firm. You will take on significant responsibility early, with direct client interaction and hands-on case management. Collaborate with nationally recognized litigators and contribute to high-profile disputes. This role stands out for its meaningful client exposure and sophisticated caseload.
What You'll Do7
- 1Own case management for complex litigation matters from filing through trial preparation, including drafting pleadings, motions, and briefs in federal and state courts.
- 2Drive discovery strategy, including written discovery, document review, and deposition preparation for commercial and consumer disputes.
- 3Conduct legal research and craft case strategy analyses, presenting recommendations to partners and clients.
- 4Coordinate with clients, experts, opposing counsel, and courts to advance litigation timelines and outcomes.
- 5Assist in hearings, arbitrations, mediations, and trial preparation, with opportunities to argue motions.
- 6Represent clients in commercial litigation and consumer disputes, including class action defense.
- 7Lead client communications, providing updates and strategic advice on case developments and resolution options.
Requirements8
- 1J.D. from an accredited law school
- 2Active District of Columbia Bar membership in good standing
- 33-4 years of litigation experience, with exposure to federal and state courts
- 4Proven skill in legal research, writing, and analysis, with strong academic credentials
- 5Experience with arbitration proceedings
- 6Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- 7Ability to independently manage multiple matters and deadlines
- 8Preferred: experience in class action litigation, data privacy disputes, or False Claims Act litigation
Salary Insight
$260 - $310k per year
