What You'll Do9
- 1Design and implement recreational programs for assisted living residents and those with Alzheimer’s disease or dementia
- 2Plan and organize trips to cultural venues and entertainment locations
- 3Prepare and distribute monthly calendars newsletters and memos
- 4Maintain detailed knowledge of resident backgrounds hobbies and languages
- 5Lead activities independently when Director of Recreation is unavailable
- 6Supervise events and ensure safety during excursions
- 7Develop new program ideas to stimulate resident interests
- 8Coordinate with staff to enhance resident experiences
- 9Present a positive attitude and maintain professional appearance
Requirements9
- 1One year’s prior experience working with senior populations including Alzheimer’s disease and dementia
- 2At least six months of recreation activity experience such as art therapy or music therapy
- 3Demonstrated leadership in event planning or activity coordination
- 4Strong communication skills and ability to present information clearly
- 5High school diploma or equivalent
- 6Ability to work onsite in New York location
- 7Commitment to providing personalized care and engagement
- 8Experience with hospitality principles and customer service
- 9Passion for creating meaningful experiences for others
Salary Insight
