Activities Coordinator for Senior Living
Overview
You will coordinate daily activities for residents at Chestnut Ridge, a senior living and memory care community in Philadelphia. You will work directly with the Life Stages Director to design and run programs that boost mental, physical, and social engagement. Your creativity and energy will shape each day, bringing residents together and encouraging participation. This role offers paid training from day one, a supportive team, and a clear path for advancement through the MAP program.
What You'll Do8
- 1Design and lead daily group and individual activities that meet residents' mental, physical, spiritual, and social needs.
- 2Build activity schedules that spark interest and motivate residents to join, adapting to varying abilities.
- 3Work with the Life Stages Director to develop new programming and ensure alignment with resident preferences.
- 4Set up activity spaces and materials, maintaining a safe and inviting environment for all residents.
- 5Document resident participation and feedback, using insights to refine activities.
- 6Coordinate with other staff to integrate activities into daily community life.
- 7Encourage residents to stay active and socially connected, fostering a lively community atmosphere.
- 8Handle multiple tasks efficiently during each shift, balancing planned activities with unplanned needs.
Requirements8
- 11+ years experience in activities coordination or a related field preferred, but we will train the right candidate.
- 2Ability to assist in developing and implementing activity programs.
- 3Strong creativity and motivational skills to engage residents.
- 4Sound judgment and ethical decision-making for resident well-being.
- 5Time management skills to complete multiple tasks in an 8-hour shift.
- 6Willingness to learn and a positive attitude toward working with seniors.
- 7Ability to pass a background check and meet all state and federal requirements.
- 8Full-time availability: Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM.
