Overview
The Lifeguard reports to the Aquatics Manager at Saddle & Cycle Club in Chicago. Responsible for implementing water safety policies supervising members and guests maintaining aquatic safety equipment ensuring cleanliness and assisting with aquatic instruction. This role differs by focusing on comprehensive pool oversight and member supervision.
What You'll Do11
- 1Supervise and observe swimmers at all times to ensure their safety
- 2Respond to emergency situations using established methods
- 3Administer First Aid and CPR as needed
- 4Enforce club rules and regulations regarding pool activities
- 5Maintain aquatic safety equipment by inspecting and reporting repairs
- 6Perform maintenance duties to keep pool deck and areas clean and safe
- 7Assist and lead aquatic instruction including swimming lessons and swim team
- 8Adhere to club rules regarding dressing and uniforms
- 9Participate in opening and closing of the pool facility
- 10Record daily chlorine levels and pH counts
- 11Participate in all in-service training to retain skills
Requirements8
- 1Some High School courses required
- 2Ability to swim laps and dive to the bottom of the pool
- 3Current Red Cross Lifeguard Certificate
- 4American Red Cross Basic First Aid training and current Red Cross CPR card
- 5Physical demands include standing walking lifting up to 50 pounds
- 6Must tolerate chlorine smell and cleaning agents
- 7Strong hearing speaking abilities
- 8Able to perform duties with or without reasonable workplace accommodation
