Lifeguard, Pool Safety & Aquatics
Overview
You will own pool safety and aquatics operations at URBN Playground in New York, NY, ensuring a safe, incident-free swimming environment for all guests. Reporting to the aquatics manager, you will monitor pool conditions, enforce rules, and maintain cleanliness across the facility. With flexible shifts covering seven days a week, you will be the go-to person for pool-related matters. This role demands alertness and professionalism, with the opportunity to work independently and as part of a dedicated team.
What You'll Do8
- 1Greet and welcome customers who come to use the pool and related amenities, making them feel at ease.
- 2Take water readings and adjust chemicals in the pool as needed to maintain safe water quality.
- 3Supervise the pool and pool area at all times while on shift, ensuring compliance with all pool rules and policies.
- 4Enforce pool rules and take action to prevent reckless behavior, prioritizing guest safety.
- 5Keep detailed daily logs of water readings and number of bathers, organizing them for monthly submission.
- 6Close the pool and take remedial action in the event of any hazards, such as chemical imbalances or equipment issues.
- 7Maintain pool cleanliness by brushing the water line, wiping down railings, folding towels, and squeegeeing the pool deck.
- 8Communicate water quality control and other issues to the next person on shift to ensure seamless operations.
Requirements6
- 1Active Lifeguard certificate
- 2Active CPR / First Aid / AED certification (NYC requires CPR annually)
- 3Prior experience in lifeguarding
- 4Prior experience in pool cleaning (vacuuming, backwashing, and scrubbing)
- 5Certification in technical pool management, maintenance, and servicing
- 6Prior experience in providing swim lessons
