What You'll Do25
- 1Oversee the work of the Legal Clinic and its volunteers
- 2Train Legal Clinic volunteers
- 3Work with volunteers and staff interviewing clients and completing TRO applications
- 4File and pick up court documents
- 5Attend court hearings when possible
- 6Process special court orders as appropriate
- 7Act as liaison between TVH and volunteer attorneys
- 8Ensure client materials are completed accurately and timely
- 9Attain grant objectives in each specified area
- 10Compile accurate statistics and agency documentation for funding sources and internal use
- 11Maintain knowledge of law changes affecting clients
- 12Comply with legal and ethical mandates regarding client welfare
- 13Network and consult with professionals on behalf of clients
- 14Perform general tasks and represent Tri-Valley Haven professionally
- 15Comply with laws including elder abuse reporting CPS reporting 5150 laws and suicide assessment
- 16Assist with 24-hour domestic violence crisis hotline and client advocacy
- 17Provide resources to residents at Tri-Valley Havens DV shelter
- 18Attend agency staff meetings and additional meetings as needed
- 19Participate in community outreach and fundraising activities
- 20Maintain a valid California driver license and insured automobile
- 21Keep a good Motor Vehicle Record to drive for the agency
- 22Work alone in high stress emergency situations
- 23Have good reading vision and sit comfortably
- 24Communicate clearly and discriminate speech
- 25Problem solve using reasoning and thinking skills
Requirements9
- 1Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 2Working knowledge of legal procedures and TRO standards
- 3Two years' experience working with domestic violence survivors
- 4Ability to work independently manage time and tasks effectively
- 5Completed Agency Training within six months of employment
- 6Valid California driver license and insured automobile
- 7Good Motor Vehicle Record
- 8Excellent reading vision and clear communication skills
- 9Reasoning and problem solving abilities
