Lead Teacher, Pre-K & School Age
Overview
As Lead Teacher, you will plan and run developmentally appropriate activities for pre-K and school age children at Tarbiya Learning Center in Columbus, Ohio, guiding their intellectual, physical, and psychological growth. You will design daily and weekly schedules, evaluate children against milestones, and partner with parents on progress. Part of a small, collaborative team, you will bring your CDA or child-related degree and First Aid/CPR certification to a role where your creativity and patience shape early learning. This role gives you the autonomy to build your classroom environment while growing with a supportive center.
What You'll Do7
- 1Design and lead daily and weekly schedules that blend learning and play, using CDA-aligned methods for pre-K and school age groups.
- 2Plan and implement developmentally appropriate games and activities that foster intellectual and physical growth.
- 3Provide basic care and caregiving, including feeding, diapering, and rest, in line with state health and safety standards.
- 4Evaluate each child's progress toward developmental milestones and document observations for parent-teacher conferences.
- 5Communicate with parents daily on activities, milestones, and any concerns, building trust through clear updates.
- 6Adapt activities in real time to meet the needs of diverse learners and ensure safety at all times.
- 7Maintain a clean, organized classroom that invites curiosity and exploration, and manage materials and supply inventory.
Requirements7
- 11+ years of daycare teaching or childcare provider experience
- 2CDA credential or Child Development Associate degree preferred
- 3First Aid and CPR certification current
- 4Strong understanding of child development milestones and age-appropriate practices
- 5Patient, kind, and nurturing approach to guiding children's behavior
- 6Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills
- 7Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and sit on the floor to engage with children
