Child Care Floater, Early Childhood Education
Overview
You will step into classrooms across Advantage Early Learning Academy, providing dynamic support where needed most, from toddler rooms to pre-K. Working directly with lead teachers, you'll help deliver Creative Curriculum and ensure every day runs smoothly. Your role adapts daily as you float between classrooms, building relationships with children and staff. This position offers a path to CDA certification and tuition assistance, making it a launchpad for a career in early childhood education.
What You'll Do7
- 1Support lead teachers across multiple classrooms, maintaining a safe and engaging environment that follows Ohio's Early Learning Development Standards.
- 2Implement Creative Curriculum activities and projects, adapting to each classroom's daily plan and children's interests.
- 3Lead small-group activities and one-on-one interactions that promote social, emotional, and cognitive growth.
- 4Assist with diapering, feeding, and cleanup routines, ensuring hygiene and safety protocols are met consistently.
- 5Communicate daily with parents and guardians, sharing observations and positive highlights from their child's day.
- 6Collaborate with teaching teams to write and refine weekly lesson plans, incorporating play-based learning strategies.
- 7Step in for absent teachers, running the full class schedule while maintaining a positive and structured atmosphere.
Requirements7
- 11+ years experience in a licensed childcare or preschool setting (or related field)
- 2Strong communication skills with both children and adults, evidenced by references or prior roles
- 3Ability to lift 30 lbs and keep up with active toddlers for full shifts
- 4Willingness to obtain CPR and First Aid certification within 30 days of hire
- 5High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in Early Childhood Education or CDA preferred
- 6Familiarity with Ohio's Early Learning Development Standards or a commitment to learn them within 90 days
- 7Enthusiasm for Creative Curriculum and project-based learning, as demonstrated in interviews or portfolios
