Overview
You'll own residential solar PV and battery storage installs from start to finish. You'll lead a crew, wire systems, and ensure code compliance across Baltimore-area projects. What You'll Do10
- 1Lead installs of electrical gear for solar PV: inverters, combiner boxes, load centers, disconnects, and monitoring equipment.
- 2Wire and integrate battery storage like Tesla Powerwall, plus EV chargers, meeting all interconnection specs.
- 3Read and apply electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, and site plans for precise installs.
- 4Run electrical tests: voltage checks, continuity, performance analysis, and basic commissioning.
- 5Ensure every install meets NEC and local codes, plus company quality specs.
- 6Keep job sites clean, organized, and staged; manage materials and equipment readiness.
- 7Document progress with photos and reports, and keep detailed system records.
- 8Communicate with project managers, ops, and homeowners on status and expectations.
- 9Mentor junior electricians and foster a culture of safety, accuracy, and professionalism.
- 10Maintain company vehicles: stocked, serviced, and road-ready.
Requirements10
- 1Active Journeyman or Master Electrician license.
- 22+ years recent residential electrical experience; solar a plus.
- 3Solid grasp of AC/DC systems, wiring, and troubleshooting.
- 4Familiarity with the NEC and ability to apply it on site.
- 5Can read electrical line drawings, building plans, and equipment manuals.
- 6Comfortable with ladders, sloped roofs, attics, and confined spaces.
- 7Able to lift 75 pounds repeatedly.
- 8Proficient with smartphones and tablets for apps, documentation, and communication.
- 9Reliable attendance and a clean driving record.
- 10Pass a drug screening and background check.
