The Lead Engineer at oversees building grounds and physical plant focusing on safety security and asset protection. What You'll Do20
- 1Provide outstanding customer service to residents families staff and visitors
- 2Assist in recruiting hiring and supervising maintenance and housekeeping staff
- 3Monitor staff performance and provide feedback to ensure high-quality services
- 4Maintain department staffing schedule and ensure appropriate coverage daily
- 5Perform general maintenance work including light electrical painting carpentry
- 6Remain knowledgeable of federal state and municipal laws regarding assisted living memory care communities ensuring compliance with fire safety codes
- 7Understand operate and maintain HVAC equipment
- 8Monitor and maintain appropriate supply of materials in work areas
- 9Ensure all equipment is properly operational for resident comfort
- 10Routinely maintain and repair equipment documenting hazardous conditions
- 11Maintain resident units in good working order performing timely repairs after move out
- 12Conduct daily inspections of building grounds and equipment
- 13Maintain community files of drawings plans equipment manufacturers instructions and warranty information
- 14Supervise safety fire protection and fire prevention programs conducting weekly inspections
- 15Direct staff and residents during fire and emergency situations
- 16Ensure personnel follow OSHA safety practices maintaining organization of physical plant
- 17Manage landscaping and snow removal contractors to ensure quality work
- 18Oversee preventative maintenance schedules and third party contractors
- 19Establish and maintain effective work order system
- 20Ensure preventative maintenance logs are maintained
Requirements9
- 1Minimum 10+ years as a Lead Chief Engineer
- 2Proven managerial experience
- 3Strong HVAC mechanical and electrical system knowledge
- 4Experience in healthcare or senior living environments preferred
- 5FDNY Certificates of Fitness preferred
- 6FLSD Certification strongly preferred
- 7EPA Universal Certification
- 8NYC Refrigeration or Boiler License preferred
- 9Core Competencies include leadership technical troubleshooting knowledge of NYC compliance requirements resident focused service mindset
