Kitchen Helper, Senior Living & Part-Time Culinary Support
Overview
The Kitchen Helper will support daily dining operations for residents in a senior living community at scale across meals and service periods. You will be part of a small kitchen team, cross-trained to perform all essential tasks from dishwashing to light food prep, with potential growth into culinary roles. This role emphasizes hospitality, integrity, and compassion, and offers training and development in a friendly culture.
What You'll Do10
- 1Assist with serving meals to residents and clearing dining tables
- 2Wash, sanitize, and store dishes and utensils
- 3Set dining tables and maintain clean dining areas
- 4Perform light food preparation and kitchen prep as needed
- 5Support adherence to food safety and sanitation standards
- 6Collaborate with kitchen and dining staff to ensure timely meal service
- 7Maintain a courteous and professional demeanor with residents and team members
- 8Assist with clean-up after meals and end-of-shift duties
- 9Assist with basic inventory checks and organization as needed
- 10Support new team members through training and onboarding
Requirements10
- 1Must be 18 years of age or older
- 2Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with residents
- 3Reliable transportation
- 4Friendly, professional, and energetic demeanor with a passion for helping others
- 5General knowledge of cleaning and sanitation procedures
- 6Maintain food handlers’ permit as required by state regulations
- 7Interest in developing culinary skills and advancing within the kitchen team
- 8Ability to work Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday with possible nights and holidays
- 9Prior experience in food service or similar role preferred
- 10Commitment to punctuality and meeting deadlines
