Overview
The Save Mart Companies seeks a Department Specialist Key Carrier to direct front‑end operations when the Assistant Center Store Manager is absent. In this role you will ensure optimal customer service, manage cash handling, train associates, and maintain store appearance. You will also perform store balancing and oversee daily shifts to deliver a memorable shopping experience.
What You'll Do11
- 1Provide customers with a remarkable shopping experience by training and holding associates accountable for excellent service
- 2Manage front‑end performance including over/short tills, check collection, cash compliance, and bottom‑of‑basket checks
- 3Lead Clerks and Clerk’s Helpers focusing on accountability and high business performance
- 4Ensure parking lot conditions such as merchandising, cleanliness, carts, and bags meet standards
- 5Perform store balancing to enhance the customer experience
- 6Direct front‑end management tasks like refunds, returns, loans, and pick‑ups
- 7Monitor front‑end operations and customer experience throughout assigned shifts
- 8Maintain total store operations in the absence of store management
- 9Support other duties as directed by leadership
- 10Assist with various retail responsibilities including WIC compliance and EBT procedures
- 11Contribute to a positive workplace within a family‑owned organization
Requirements8
- 1Minimum age 18 years with strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- 2Ability to read and write for accurate documentation
- 3Knowledge of front‑end operations and check stand procedures
- 4Understanding of compliance and applicable work rules
- 5One year of grocery or retail experience with at least six months in a front‑line role
- 6Physical stamina to sit, stand, walk, kneel, stoop, use stairs, reach, and lift up to 40 lbs
- 7Availability for varied retail hours
- 8Commitment to teamwork and a customer‑focused mindset
