Inventory Clerk, Credit Memo Specialist - Food Distribution & WMS
Overview
Own credit memo processing and inventory accuracy within a fast-paced food distribution operation. You will manage credit requests, validate documentation, and coordinate with warehouse teams to resolve discrepancies at scale. What You'll Do10
- 1Build and process customer credit memos for shortages, damaged goods, mispicks, spoilage, and quality concerns to completion
- 2Investigate credit claims by coordinating with warehouse staff, drivers, QC teams, and customer service to reach timely resolutions
- 3Maintain digital and physical records of credit transactions and supporting evidence (photos, BOLs, return forms)
- 4Perform regular cycle counts and assist with physical inventories to maintain accurate stock levels
- 5Research and reconcile inventory variances related to picking errors, damaged cases, or receiving discrepancies
- 6Monitor aging inventory, spoilage, and expiration dates to minimize waste
- 7Ensure accurate inventory adjustments are entered into the WMS and support FIFO/FEFO compliance
- 8Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on credit trends, shrink, and inventory accuracy
- 9Identify recurring issues and recommend process improvements to reduce waste and improve warehouse accuracy
- 10Maintain compliance with food safety, sanitation, and warehouse operational standards
Requirements10
- 11–3 years of experience in food warehousing, distribution, inventory control, or related field
- 2Familiarity with WMS, ERP platforms, and Excel
- 3Strong understanding of FIFO/FEFO, cold-chain processes, and food-handling requirements
- 4Ability to interpret BOLs, pick tickets, invoices, and quality control documentation
- 5Excellent communication, problem-solving, and investigative skills
- 6Prior forklift operation in a warehouse environment and ability to wear steel-toe boots
- 7Ability to stand, walk, and move within a warehouse for extended periods and lift up to 40–50 lbs occasionally
- 8Comfortable working in refrigerated and freezer environments when necessary
- 9Physical capability to support early morning, weekend, or overtime hours as needed
- 10Starting pay range $22-$26/hr and benefits including 401K and PTO
