Install Shop Technician, Automotive Prototype & Test Fit
Overview
Own the hands-on installation and test fit of new off-road products in a clean specialty shop. You will work closely with engineering to test, evaluate, and prepare prototypes for release at a Chandler, AZ site. Collaborate with multiple brands under HPAG to ensure fitment, quality, and production readiness. This role focuses on moving products from prototype to ready-for-market production rather than routine repairs.
What You'll Do8
- 1Build and test fit prototype products for compatibility with factory vehicle features
- 2Install aftermarket components such as bumpers, LED lighting, intercoolers, and winches
- 3Perform basic 12V wiring for lighting and accessories
- 4Identify fitment, quality, and production-readiness improvements and report findings
- 5Assist with 3D scanning of vehicles and finished products for engineering evaluation
- 6Help create customer installation guides during prototype and test-fit processes
- 7Assemble finished goods and support product launches with engineering teams
- 8Collaborate with product development teams to support successful launches
Requirements10
- 1At least one year of hands-on automotive mechanical experience
- 2Working knowledge of automotive mechanical and basic electrical systems
- 3Experience using hand tools and performing mechanical installations
- 4Basic metal fabrication skills
- 5Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- 6Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- 7Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office
- 8Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
- 9High school diploma or GED
- 10Ability to read and communicate effectively in English
Salary Insight
