Overview
Own end-to-end truck body installation projects at scale, focusing on mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems. Work within a skilled team to interpret blueprints, fabricate, wire, and assemble truck bodies onto chassis. Contribute to safe, high-quality installations in a managed on-site shop environment. This role emphasizes hands-on fabrication, troubleshooting, and repair rather than engine work.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build truck body upfits by mounting subframes and side beds per blueprints and instructions
- 2Design and install hydraulic systems including cylinders, pumps, hoses, and control systems to ensure proper operation
- 3Ship electrical systems wiring and connections for lighting, controls, and auxiliary equipment
- 4Fabricate steel and aluminum components for installations and modifications
- 5Diagnose and repair mechanical issues during installation and service work
- 6Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and hydraulic schematics to guide accurate assembly
- 7Apply mechanical troubleshooting to resolve installation problems within the first 90 days
- 8Perform service and new install work on truck bodies and related systems
- 9Maintain safety and quality standards during all fabrication and assembly tasks
- 10Own essential tools and maintain a clean, organized workspace
Requirements10
- 1At least 1 year of experience working as a mechanic
- 2Minimum of 2 years demonstrating strong mechanical inclination including troubleshooting
- 3Ability to install and service truck bodies and related mechanical systems
- 4Proficiency with impacts and socket sets including 5/8 and 1/2
- 5Experience using hand tools, power tools, measuring devices, shop equipment safely
- 6Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and hydraulic schematics
- 7Experience with hydraulic components such as cylinders, pumps, hoses, valves, and control systems
- 8Wiring electrical systems including lighting, controls, switches, and warning systems
- 9Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- 10Ownership of essential tools including impact tools and socket sets
