HVAC Controls Engineer
Overview
We seek a hands-on Service Engineer / Controls Specialist to troubleshoot HVAC equipment and program building automation systems. This role involves servicing HVAC gear diagnosing controls and modifying PLC/DDC controllers. The ideal candidate will understand equipment behavior and control logic to resolve issues efficiently.
What You'll Do11
- 1Troubleshoot HVAC equipment control systems hardware and software
- 2Program and modify PLC and DDC controllers
- 3Diagnose equipment and controls issues directly with customers
- 4Perform control system inspections maintenance software updates and upgrades
- 5Configure HMI user interface screens and control algorithms
- 6Read and interpret P&IDs and sequences of operation
- 7Conduct point-to-point checks functional testing calibration and tuning
- 8Support control system startup commissioning field installation and controls discrepancies
- 9Configure networks and equipment interfaces
- 10Develop redlines test documentation and service reports
- 11Provide technical support to service technicians and customers
Requirements10
- 15+ years building automation experience
- 2Platinum certification in controls
- 3Python scripting language proficiency
- 4Experience with Rockwell FactoryTalk RSLogix Studio 5000 PlantPAx Tridium Niagara Distech BACnet LON Eclypse Controllers Kepware OPC ThinManager VMware AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner
- 5Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems in commercial facilities
- 6Ability to troubleshoot both physical HVAC equipment and control systems
- 7Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Electrical Engineering or related field
- 8Proven track record of independent work at customer sites
- 9Excellent customer-facing communication skills
- 10Availability for on-call rotation and travel to customer facilities
