Overview
You will own the cleanliness and sanitation of public areas, resident rooms, and bathrooms at Aviara Healthcare Center, a long-term care facility serving elderly residents. You will work with a small housekeeping team reporting to the Director of Housekeeping, covering a multi-floor building with high hygiene standards. Your work directly impacts resident health and comfort, with a focus on safety and infection control. This role suits someone who takes pride in spotless spaces and can work independently or with a team.
What You'll Do9
- 1Clean lobbies, restrooms, drinking fountains, and floors in public and common areas daily.
- 2Sanitize resident rooms and bathrooms, wiping down handrails and removing dust from walls, mirrors, windows, and light fixtures.
- 3Empty trash cans and replace liners throughout the facility.
- 4Sweep and mop floors, using caution signage and storing chemicals safely.
- 5Operate cleaning equipment like buffers and carpet extractors according to manufacturer instructions.
- 6Keep housekeeping carts and storage areas organized and sanitary.
- 7Report resident safety concerns immediately to the Director of Housekeeping or nursing leadership.
- 8Notify the Director of Housekeeping when supplies run low.
- 9Complete tasks within shift hours while maintaining a positive, service-oriented attitude.
Requirements9
- 1High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 21+ year housekeeping experience in healthcare or long-term care is a plus.
- 3Ability to follow written and oral instructions and safety guidelines.
- 4Strong attention to detail with a focus on cleanliness.
- 5Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- 6Basic math skills for measuring cleaning solutions and tracking supply usage.
- 7Ability to interpret instructions from manuals, diagrams, and schedules.
- 8Physical ability to walk, stand, bend, reach, and lift up to 25 lbs.
- 9Comfort using cleaning equipment and handling chemical supplies safely.
