Host, Plant-Based Restaurant & Guest Relations
Overview
You will own the guest journey at PLANTA, a plant-powered hospitality brand, from the first greeting to the fond farewell. You will manage a 50+ seat dining room with a team of 10+ service staff, using SevenRooms to seat strategically and boost check averages. Your first 90 days focus on mastering the reservation system and building a loyal guest following. This role stands out because you directly shape the culture of a fast-growing, values-driven restaurant group.
What You'll Do9
- 1Greet every guest with genuine enthusiasm and set the tone for a memorable meal at PLANTA.
- 2Seat guests promptly using SevenRooms, balancing reservations and walk-ins to maximize revenue per seat.
- 3Coordinate with the chef and floor team on allergies and special requests, ensuring the kitchen and service staff execute them flawlessly.
- 4Update the SevenRooms database with guest preferences, anniversaries, and VIP notes to personalize future visits.
- 5Own the host stand checklists, daily cleaning of entryways, and weekly deep-clean of front-of-house areas.
- 6Audit reservation flow and communicate seating patterns to the General Manager to improve table turn times.
- 7Resolve guest conflicts courteously and escalate only when needed, keeping the dining room calm and positive.
- 8Train new hosts on SevenRooms and brand standards, embedding a culture of precision and care.
- 9Manage takeout orders through MyCheck and integrate with the kitchen to ensure accuracy and timing.
Requirements8
- 11-2 years of hosting in an upscale or high-volume restaurant setting.
- 2Hands-on experience with SevenRooms or similar reservation platforms, including seat assignment and guest notes.
- 3Clear verbal communication in English; a second language is a plus.
- 4Ability to stand for long shifts and lift up to 25 lbs, including carrying menus and beverage trays.
- 5Flexible schedule days, nights, weekends, holidays, and full-time availability.
- 6Professional presentation and a warm, approachable demeanor.
- 7Logical problem-solving for seating conflicts and guest complaints.
- 8Team-first attitude with no task considered too small.
