Hospital Medicine NP/PA, PRN (Atrium Health)
Overview
You will own patient assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans for hospital medicine at Atrium Health in Charlotte, NC. You will collaborate with supervising physicians and the care team to deliver daily care across a PRN schedule. You will document encounters in the medical record and advocate for patient needs. What You'll Do7
- 1Perform initial and periodic medical histories, physical exams, and daily assessments for patients in the hospital setting.
- 2Record findings, assessments, and care plans in the patient's medical record.
- 3Perform minor office-based procedures, write prescriptions, and administer medications.
- 4Order and interpret daily lab and radiology exams to guide treatment decisions.
- 5Determine treatment plans and adjust based on patient response and daily evaluations.
- 6Act as a patient advocate and coordinate with physicians and the care team on complex cases.
- 7Participate in group meetings and contribute to policy development for hospital medicine.
Requirements10
- 1Master's Degree or Doctorate in Nursing Practice required.
- 2License to practice as a Registered Nurse required.
- 3Certification in the area of practice from a nationally recognized certifying body required.
- 4ACNP, AGACNP, AGNP, PNP, or PNP-AC board certification preferred.
- 5Must have or be eligible for a DEA license.
- 6Approved to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in the state you work.
- 7Eligible for prescriptive authority application through the Board of Nursing or Medical Board.
- 8BLS required with expiration greater than 90 days from start date.
- 9Ability to lift and support 35 pounds when handling patients and equipment.
- 10Demonstrates critical thinking, interpersonal skills, and ability to prioritize in stressful situations.
