Overview

Own emergency medicine care as an Advanced Practice Professional at Atrium Health Cabarrus, a Level III trauma center with 40 beds, part of Advocate Health, one of the nation's largest nonprofit health systems. You'll treat acute conditions from broken bones to heart attacks in a 24/7 department, collaborating with a team of 33 physicians and 22 APPs. Rotate between the main ED and freestanding sites in Kannapolis and Harrisburg. This role offers flexible 10-hour shifts, quarterly incentives, and a path to leadership in a clinician-led medical group.

What You'll Do8

  • 1Manage emergency care for all ages at Atrium Health Cabarrus, a Level III trauma center, and rotate to freestanding EDs.
  • 2Perform complex diagnostic and therapeutic procedures within your scope, as granted by state boards.
  • 3Lead patient assessments, treatment plans, and disposition decisions for life-threatening injuries and illnesses.
  • 4Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and specialists in a team-based care model to ensure timely, expert care.
  • 5Support first, second, and third shifts, including nights and weekends, with 2-4 night shifts monthly.
  • 6Document and communicate care plans clearly using EPIC EMR.
  • 7Mentor new graduates and APPs with ongoing onboarding and skill development.
  • 8Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance ED throughput and patient outcomes.

Requirements10

  • 1NP with ENP certification or eligible, or PA with emergency medicine experience
  • 23+ years in emergency medicine as an APP (new grads considered with structured onboarding)
  • 3Active NC license or eligibility
  • 4BLS and ACLS certification before start
  • 5ATLS within 1 year of start
  • 6Comfort with 10-hour shifts and flexible monthly hours of 130 or 151.67
  • 7Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, holidays
  • 8Experience with EPIC EMR preferred
  • 9Strong procedural skills in suturing, splinting, and central lines
  • 10Ability to thrive in high-acuity, fast-paced settings
