What You'll Do14

  • 1Process surgical specimens through loading unloading and programming tissue processors
  • 2Embed tissue samples according to department protocols with proper orientation
  • 3Prepare quality slides following microtomy protocols
  • 4Perform routine H&E and special staining both automated and manual
  • 5Accurately accession specimens into the Laboratory Information System
  • 6Conduct frozen sections as required
  • 7Utilize and maintain laboratory equipment including tissue processors stainers coverslippers microtomes computers and printers
  • 8Complete microscopic quality control reviews of slides
  • 9Perform ancillary tasks such as filing cleaning and maintaining supply inventory
  • 10Monitor pending work resolve specimen issues troubleshoot equipment
  • 11Maintain temperature logs and equipment maintenance records
  • 12Assist in training new team members and students
  • 13Prepare cases for reference labs for specialized testing
  • 14Execute all other duties as assigned

Requirements5

  • 15+ years building ETL pipelines with Spark and Airflow
  • 23-5 seasons experience in laboratory settings
  • 3Associate’s Degree with biology and chemistry credits meeting program requirements
  • 4HT/HTL (ASCP) certificate or eligibility for certification
  • 512 semester hours in biology and chemistry within five years
