Histology Image Scan Technician, Digital Pathology
Overview
Join UPMC Presbyterian's Histology Laboratory as a Histology Image Scan Technician, owning the transition to digital pathology and telepathology services. You'll serve as the primary resource for the imaging system, troubleshooting and ensuring high-quality digital slides for pathologist review. Work alongside a collaborative laboratory and digital imaging implementation team, with a consistent daylight schedule from 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., no weekends or holidays. This role drives diagnostic quality and patient care through precise imaging operations.
What You'll Do6
- 1Serve as the primary resource for imaging system equipment knowledge, troubleshooting, and data information.
- 2Load prepared microscopic slides onto the digital image scanner for pathologist review.
- 3Assist with laboratory slide preparation and delivery operations to limit workflow disruptions.
- 4Perform quality assurance evaluation on scanned images, confirming slides are scanned as complete cases.
- 5Prepare and analyze data metrics related to imaging system reliability.
- 6Collaborate with the digital imaging implementation team to ensure successful integration.
Requirements5
- 1High school diploma required; Associate's degree preferred.
- 21+ year of laboratory experience preferred.
- 3Act 34 clearance required.
- 4Familiarity with digital pathology and image scanning technologies.
- 5Strong troubleshooting and data analysis skills.
