Heavy Equipment Mechanic, Diesel & Hydraulic Systems for Construction Equipment
Overview
The role owns diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy construction and earthmoving equipment at scale in a shop environment. You will work with a team of service technicians and shop leadership to keep excavators, dozers, wheel loaders, graders, and dump trucks operating safely. This position emphasizes hands on repair, preventive maintenance, and accurate documentation to maximize uptime and equipment performance.
What You'll Do5
- 1Build and diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on excavators, dozers, loaders, graders, trucks, and pavers
- 2Perform preventive maintenance including oil changes, filters, fluids, belts, and hoses to extend equipment life
- 3Read and interpret service manuals and electrical schematics to guide repairs
- 4Document repairs and parts usage accurately to support parts inventory and service history
- 5Collaborate with team to plan maintenance schedules and minimize downtime
Requirements5
- 13–5 years of heavy equipment repair experience
- 2Strong diesel, hydraulic, and electrical systems knowledge
- 3OEM dealership experience preferred (CAT, John Deere, Komatsu, Volvo, CASE, Hitachi, etc.)
- 4High school diploma or technical certificate
- 5Ability to read schematics and service manuals
