Healthcare Controller, Medical Billing & Revenue Cycle
Overview
This role owns accounting and financial operations for a multi-location healthcare organization. You will partner with executive leadership to drive revenue cycle performance and build scalable processes. The team is lean, and you will work with external partners like CPA firms and payroll providers. What You'll Do8
- 1Own month-end and year-end close, including preparing financial statements and management reports.
- 2Drive revenue cycle performance by analyzing medical billing data, reducing denials, and improving collections.
- 3Build budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections to support expansion into new markets.
- 4Design and implement internal controls and financial policies to ensure GAAP compliance.
- 5Lead external partner relationships with CPA firms, tax advisors, and banking partners.
- 6Develop KPI dashboards that track reimbursement trends and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- 7Improve accounting workflows and systems to handle multi-entity growth.
- 8Support acquisitions by integrating financial processes and systems.
Requirements8
- 18+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
- 2Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA strongly preferred.
- 3Healthcare finance experience with medical billing and insurance reimbursement required.
- 4Experience with physician practices, medical groups, or multi-location healthcare organizations.
- 5Strong background in financial reporting, general ledger, and internal controls.
- 6Advanced Excel skills for modeling and analysis.
- 7Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- 8Experience in a startup or high-growth environment is preferred.
