What You'll Do10

  • 1Oversee QA and chain of custody for all testing forms and lab requisitions, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • 2Train new staff on testing paperwork and database entry, and communicate new protocols to ensure adherence.
  • 3Lead evaluation activities during monitoring periods, preparing audit reports for contract funders.
  • 4Collect samples and run rapid HIV/HCV tests, external controls, and complete all required documentation.
  • 5Conduct HIV, HCV, and STI risk reduction counseling and document positives to SFDPH.
  • 6Manage daily temperature logs, monthly controls, and submit test batches to partners.
  • 7Handle ordering, invoicing, and inventory of testing supplies, monitoring expiration dates.
  • 8Collaborate with the C&I team on data management, reporting, and evaluation.
  • 9Coordinate staffing for testing events and manage the testing calendar with community partners.
  • 10Facilitate special events like Project Homeless Connect and Street Health Fairs to promote testing.

Requirements10

  • 12-3 years experience providing HIV/HCV/STI prevention education, phlebotomy, or testing to similar populations.
  • 22-3 years supervisory experience in a clinical, public health, or community setting, including direct oversight of full-time staff.
  • 3Experience supervising staff in a unionized environment.
  • 4Current California CPT-1 certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • 5CA Rapid HIV/HCV Test Counselor certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • 6Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 3 months.
  • 7Understanding of Harm Reduction as a public health model for social justice.
  • 8Familiarity with social determinants of health (SDOH) and their impact on homeless and marginalized populations.
  • 9Experience with venue-based testing and street-based settings (mobile testing, SROs, health fairs).
  • 10Experience working with people who use drugs (PWUD) and people living with HIV/HCV.
