Associate Director Compliance Systems, Nonprofit Operations
Overview
You will design and implement organizational compliance systems, dashboards, and governance processes for GLIDE, a nationally recognized social justice center with $20M+ in government-funded contracts. You'll own the infrastructure that lets Finance, Fund Development, Programs, Operations, and HR teams meet their compliance duties. Working with the CCIO, you'll standardize workflows, run biannual assessments, and lead cross-functional change projects. This role breaks down silos and sets up sustainable practices across a mission-driven Tenderloin agency.
What You'll Do8
- 1Design and implement cross-system compliance dashboards, calendars, and reporting tools to track contract and grant obligations across Finance, Fund Development, Programs, Ops, and HR.
- 2Build and maintain centralized repositories for compliance documentation, templates, and institutional knowledge, making them accessible to all teams.
- 3Facilitate biannual compliance assessments with the CCIO, documenting strengths, gaps, and actionable improvements.
- 4Standardize compliance workflows, checklists, toolkits, and templates in partnership with departmental compliance leads.
- 5Develop audit preparation processes and standardized checklists, timelines, and role assignments for contract audits and monitoring visits.
- 6Lead cross-functional working groups to align stakeholders around compliance process changes, clarify divisions of labor, and drive execution from planning through rollout.
- 7Surface emerging compliance risks and gaps at the organizational level, recommending and implementing process improvements.
- 8Partner with Finance and Program teams to integrate fiscal and programmatic compliance into standard operating procedures, fostering shared accountability.
Requirements8
- 15+ years of progressively responsible experience in project management, organizational operations, compliance systems, or process improvement.
- 2Proven track record of cross-systems project management, delivering outcomes in complex nonprofit environments.
- 3Experience working with databases, data collection tools, and data analysis to inform compliance decisions.
- 4Hands-on experience with government-funded contracts and grants in a nonprofit setting, with preference for San Francisco City and County contracts.
- 5Strong facilitation and change management skills, able to align stakeholders and lead initiatives from inception to execution.
- 6Experience in community-based social or health services, including basic knowledge of program design and programmatic/fiscal monitoring.
- 7Analytic and creative problem-solving, synthesizing diverse information into recommended solutions.
- 8Demonstrated cultural humility and commitment to GLIDE’s mission, equity, and continuous improvement.
Salary Insight
$95 - $115k per year
