Overview
You will own hardware validation for complex embedded systems, developing Python-based test scripts and executing board-level testing in a Phoenix lab. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams on aerospace and defense projects, translating requirements into executable test procedures. What You'll Do10
- 1Develop, maintain, and debug Python validation scripts for board-level and interface-level testing.
- 2Translate hardware requirements into executable test procedures with clear pass/fail criteria.
- 3Execute and refine automated test scripts to validate hardware functionality and performance.
- 4Work hands-on with low-level interfaces: SPI, I2C, UART, GPIO, RS-422, RS-485, Ethernet, and CAN.
- 5Set up and operate lab equipment: oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, digital multimeters, power supplies, and signal generators.
- 6Perform root cause analysis of failures across script logic, firmware, and hardware bring-up.
- 7Write maintainable, modular Python code with logging, retries, timeouts, and error handling.
- 8Use Git for version control, participate in code reviews, and support CI workflows.
- 9Maintain requirement-to-test traceability and document test evidence and troubleshooting playbooks.
- 10Own test development from design through lab execution, defect tracking, and closure.
Requirements8
- 1Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer, or Hardware Engineering.
- 23+ years in Hardware Validation, V&V, Test Engineering, or Systems Integration.
- 3Experience in an engineering lab environment within the last 12 months.
- 42+ years executing, modifying, and debugging Python scripts for hardware testing.
- 5Hands-on experience with SPI, I2C, UART, GPIO, RS-422, and RS-485.
- 6Recent experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, digital multimeters, and power supplies.
- 7Proven ability to isolate hardware, firmware, and test script failures.
- 8Strong written and verbal communication skills for status updates and documentation.
