Hardware Validation Engineer, Board Bring-Up & Debug
Overview
5+ years of hardware validation expertise will drive board bring-up, power validation, and I/O debugging for next-gen platforms in Austin, TX or Fremont, CA. You will own the test plan, execute validation cycles, and collaborate with design teams to resolve issues. This W2 contract spans 12+ months with onsite presence required from day one.
What You'll Do7
- 1Direct board bring-up and debug activities, identifying electrical and functional failures in early prototypes.
- 2Validate power delivery networks including PMIC, VRM, and power sequencing, measuring ripple, noise, and efficiency.
- 3Run I/O validation for interfaces like PCIe, USB, SATA, and Ethernet, ensuring signal integrity and compliance.
- 4Develop and execute hardware validation test plans for new board revisions, documenting results and defects in the tracking system.
- 5Collaborate with hardware design engineers to troubleshoot issues, reproduce failures, and verify fixes.
- 6Drive pre-silicon and post-silicon validation coverage, leveraging lab equipment like oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and protocol analyzers.
- 7Own validation reports and provide clear communication of findings to cross-functional teams.
Requirements6
- 15-10 years of hands-on hardware board bring-up and debug experience.
- 2Expert level in power validation, including power sequencing, voltage regulation, and load transient testing.
- 3Good knowledge of I/O standards such as PCIe, USB, SATA, and Ethernet.
- 4Ability to debug hardware issues using JTAG, logic analyzers, and oscilloscopes.
- 5Proven track record of bringing up complex boards in a lab environment.
- 6Willingness to work onsite in Austin, TX or Fremont, CA.
