Overview
Groundskeepers own outdoor maintenance at our communities in Overland Park and surrounding areas, upkeeping landscaping and assisting with apartment make-readies. You will support a property management team and help create a clean, safe, welcoming environment for residents. This role sits on-site with opportunities for growth and career development.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build and maintain landscaping by mowing, raking, watering, weeding, trimming, and laying sod to enhance curb appeal
- 2Clean and maintain common areas and grounds to ensure a safe, welcoming environment
- 3Perform light maintenance on plumbing, electrical, and appliances to support property operations
- 4Assist with make-ready tasks including painting, drywall repair, and general carpentry to prepare units for new residents
- 5Ensure proper care and maintenance of tools, equipment, and supplies to maximize uptime
- 6Pick up and dispose of litter and trash across the property to maintain cleanliness
- 7Operate hand and power tools safely in daily duties
- 8Follow safety procedures and contribute to a hazard-free work environment
- 9Support additional maintenance tasks as assigned by the Property Manager
- 10Maintain documentation of tasks and report issues to leadership
Requirements10
- 1At least 6 months of related experience
- 2Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures
- 3Knowledge of grounds maintenance and basic building trades
- 4Ability to operate hand and power tools
- 5Ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects
- 6Strong attention to detail and a proactive attitude
- 7No formal education required—willingness to learn
- 8Work may involve roofs, ladders, or lift devices and exposure to hazards
- 9Background check and E-Verify required
