Grocery Department Lead, Retail Operations
Overview
Owns day to day Grocery Department operations in the absence of Directors, guiding ordering, stocking, pricing and merchandising at scale. Partners with Grocery Manager and Third Person to meet store goals and maintain service standards. Leads customer service initiatives and enforces safety, sanitation and policy compliance. This role emphasizes hands on supervision, training and operational control across the department and store when needed.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build customer service programs to meet division goals and resolve complaints effectively
- 2Direct and supervise daily grocery operations including ordering, receiving, storing, pricing, rotating and merchandising
- 3Assist in planning and directing day to day Grocery Department activities
- 4Maintain policy compliance and implement merchandising guidelines
- 5Control shrink, ensure product freshness and prevent out of code sales
- 6Open and close the store, backup cashier as needed
- 7Engage in suggestive selling and other sales techniques
- 8Provide leadership to develop people and maintain composure in interactions with customers and staff
- 9Handle safety, sanitation and security requirements with accuracy and integrity
- 10Execute necessary duties assigned by management to support store operations

- 4Ability to stand, walk, lift up to 80 lbs, climb ladders and operate equipment

- 6Must adhere to attendance, grooming standards and dress code
- 7Ability to work in temperature controlled environments including cold cases and freezers
- 8Ability to work with cleaning supplies, safety cutters and other store tools
- 9Ability to interact with customers, vendors and coworkers at all levels
- 10Safety-sensitive role with responsibility impacting employee and customer health
