Graduate Assistant Athletics Communications
Overview
Basic Function Graduate Assistant maintains regular contact with Notre Dame University’s athletics teams and coaches to provide information to the media campus and public while assisting with athletics website video streaming and editing social media. Responsibilities include developing favorable media attention and image for sports teams coaches and athletic department utilizing various communications media and outlets.
What You'll Do14
- 1Maintains statistical and historical records of athletic events and athletes
- 2Assists as official statistician
- 3Assists with compilation and reporting of statistics on teams individuals and coaches
- 4Assists communications with conference office and NCAA for timely reporting of rosters schedules and statistics
- 5Compiles and maintains student athlete and coach biographical information
- 6Aids with video streaming of home athletic events
- 7Helps administer official athletic department social media accounts
- 8Assists in coordinating athletic photography
- 9Assists with media relations for all men’s and women’s athletics teams student athletes and coaches
- 10Researches writes and edits news releases features and copy about student athletes coaches and sports teams
- 11Produces athletic publications including home game programs schedules
- 12Designs provides content for and regular updates to notredamegators.com
- 13Provides input for selection of Athlete of the Week and oversees accompanying feature story
- 14Performs similar comparable or related duties as required
Requirements3
- 1Bachelor's Degree required preferably in Sport Management Journalism English Communications or Public Relations
- 2Currently enrolled in graduate studies program at Notre Dame of Maryland University
- 3Experience in athletic media relations and or video editing a plus
