You will act as the primary contact for all athletics communications, from website updates to social media and video. The role sits within a collaborative Athletic Department, reporting to head coaches and administration. You will shape the digital strategy and game-day operations, making every contest visible to the community and beyond. This part-time position offers direct impact on recruiting and program visibility, with a flexible schedule around home events.

What You'll Do9

  • 1Manage the athletics website using Presto, posting news, scores, and feature stories within 24 hours of events.
  • 2Drive social media channels with daily content, including game highlights and behind-the-scenes posts, growing engagement each season.
  • 3Produce video content for YouTube and other platforms, editing with Adobe Creative Suite to showcase athletic achievements.
  • 4Serve as official scorer and statistician at all home contests, using NCAA LiveStats and StatCrew to record real-time data.
  • 5Coordinate with head coaches to finalize season schedules and contracts, ensuring compliance with conference rules.
  • 6Oversee the nomination process for all-conference, regional, and national awards, preparing submission materials.
  • 7Represent the department at admissions recruiting events, highlighting athletics as a draw for prospective students.
  • 8Manage the Athletics Banquet, handling logistics, invitations, and program content.
  • 9Supervise student workers, assigning tasks and ensuring accurate coverage for home games.

Requirements7

  • 1Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Sports Management, or related field required.
  • 2Master's degree preferred.
  • 32+ years managing sports information or athletic communications at collegiate level.
  • 4Hands-on experience with Presto, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop), and StatCrew or NCAA LiveStats.
  • 5Proven ability to lead student staff and coordinate multiple sport schedules.
  • 6Excellent written and verbal communication skills for press releases and media queries.
  • 7Valid U.S. driver's license required for travel to away contests.
