Garnishments Coordinator, Payroll Compliance
Overview
You will own end-to-end wage garnishment administration for a multi-state workforce of 50,000+ employees, ensuring full compliance with federal and state laws. You will partner with Payroll Analysts, HR, Legal, and external agencies to process orders accurately across JD Edwards, ADP, and ServiceNow. This role drives timely resolution within SLAs and audits payroll deductions for compliance. You will also shape standard operating procedures for garnishment handling, making a direct impact on payroll accuracy and legal risk.
What You'll Do10
- 1Administer all garnishment types, including child support, tax levies, creditor, bankruptcy, and student loan orders for 50,000+ employees.
- 2Interpret legal documents and calculate withholding per CCPA guidelines and state-specific regulations.
- 3Validate deductions in JD Edwards and ADP during weekly and semi-monthly payroll cycles.
- 4Manage a high-volume ServiceNow case queue, documenting each case and resolving inquiries within SLAs.
- 5Process garnishment modifications, releases, suspensions, terminations, refunds, and priority changes.
- 6Ensure timely remittance to courts, agencies, and third-party administrators.
- 7Audit payroll deductions before payroll completion to prevent compliance errors.
- 8Support payroll system enhancements and testing for garnishment processing improvements.
- 9Develop and maintain audit-ready documentation and standard operating procedures.
- 10Maintain confidentiality and professionalism while communicating with employees, agencies, and legal entities.
Requirements10
- 13–5+ years administering garnishments in a high-volume, multi-state payroll environment.
- 2Hands-on experience with JD Edwards and ADP payroll systems.
- 3Proficiency in ServiceNow for case management and SLA adherence.
- 4Working knowledge of CCPA, federal and state wage garnishment laws, child support enforcement, IRS tax levies, and bankruptcy withholding.
- 5Experience supporting weekly and semi-monthly payroll cycles.
- 6Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for data analysis and reconciliation.
- 7Exceptional attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- 8Strong written and verbal communication skills for interfacing with agencies and internal teams.
- 9Preferred: enterprise payroll experience with 50,000+ employees.
- 10Preferred: knowledge of union payroll, CBAs, and SOX controls.
