
FSQA Manager, Food Safety & Quality Assurance
Overview
Own and drive the FSQA program at a food manufacturing site in Sterling, VA. Guarantee food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance across all production lines. Lead a team of quality technicians and collaborate with operations, sanitation, and R&D. This role is the site's expert on SQF and GFSI standards, ensuring zero recalls and audit readiness.
What You'll Do8
- 1Own the site's FSQA program, ensuring zero non-conformances
- 2Lead audits against GFSI and SQF standards, closing gaps within 30 days
- 3Drive root cause analysis for quality issues, implementing corrective actions
- 4Validate sanitation processes and verify hygiene through environmental monitoring
- 5Train and mentor quality technicians on HACCP and regulatory requirements
- 6Collaborate with R&D on new product launches, defining quality parameters
- 7Monitor and report quality KPIs to plant leadership
- 8Ensure compliance with FDA and USDA regulations
Requirements7
- 15+ years in food safety or quality assurance in food manufacturing
- 2BS in Food Science, Food Engineering, Chemistry, or Biology
- 3SQF Practitioner certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
- 4HACCP certification required
- 53+ years of experience managing a team
- 6Working knowledge of GFSI benchmarked standards (e.g., BRC, FSSC 22000)
- 7Proven track record of successful third-party audits
