Front Office Patient Financial Representative, Pediatric Bone Marrow Clinic
Overview
This role acts as the front face of the clinic, greeting patients and families and handling registration, scheduling, and insurance verification. You will collect patient payments, provide financial guidance, and support smooth patient flow in a pediatric bone marrow clinic setting. Work is per diem at Banner University Medical Center Tucson with day shifts and potential up to 40 hours weekly. This position blends customer service with financial operations to maximize reimbursement and ensure compliant information release.
What You'll Do9
- 1Build patient registrations and check-in processes while obtaining signatures and intake forms
- 2Verify insurance eligibility and assist with pre-certification and referrals
- 3Calculate and collect patient liability and explain financial policies and resources
- 4Enter payments and reconcile charges daily, balancing cash and preparing deposits
- 5Schedule office visits and procedures to maximize payor reimbursement and confirm next-day appointments
- 6Manage patient communications via phone, email, and in person to support flow and service quality
- 7Assist with patient records requests and release information in compliance with policy
- 8Provide patient services such as escorting, vitals, and supporting treatment workflows
- 9Maintain independence in a fast paced, high volume environment with sound judgment
Requirements5
- 1High school diploma or GED
- 2Experience in patient financial services, financial collections, or insurance processes
- 3Ability to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision
- 4Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- 5Proficiency with common office software including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases
