Front Desk Medical Receptionist, Healthcare & Patient Experience
Overview
Front Desk Medical Receptionist at Aspire Allergy & Sinus will own patient intake and front office flow at our Central Austin clinic. You will engage with patients, handle scheduling and billing, and support clinical operations with precision in EHR data entry and basic medical tasks. You will collaborate with the front desk team and clinical staff to ensure a smooth patient journey from check-in to follow-up. This role stands out through cross-training in medical assisting duties and direct exposure to allergy and sinus care.
What You'll Do14
- 1Greet and direct patients with a friendly demeanor to create a positive first impression
- 2Obtain CT authorizations by contacting insurance providers and maintain accurate patient records in the EHR
- 3Process patient payments and manage outstanding balances and current appointments
- 4Answer incoming calls, provide accurate information, and route inquiries appropriately
- 5Schedule follow-up visits using scheduling software and coordinate with providers
- 6Enter and verify patient demographics, insurance, referral sources, and PCP information in the EHR
- 7Prepare patient paperwork for upcoming appointments and organize documents
- 8Scan and attach records to patient charts and manage incoming mail
- 9Monitor pharmacy shipments for patient pickup and ensure supplies at the front desk
- 10Cross-train in medical assistant tasks including allergy injections, vitals, rooming patients, and allergen accuracy checks
- 11Assist in coordinating allergen vial transfers and request medical records from outside providers
- 12Maintain end-of-day reports and logs for accuracy and completeness
- 13Stock front desk areas and break rooms with necessary supplies
- 14Support clinic operations during busy periods and travel between locations as needed
Requirements10
- 1Minimum 6+ months of front desk experience, preferably in healthcare
- 2Medical assistant background preferred
- 3Willingness to travel within assigned region
- 4Medical Assistant Certificate or related license preferred
- 5Current CPR Certification required
- 6Basic medical terminology knowledge
- 7Strong customer service and communication skills
- 8Ability to clearly exchange information with patients and staff
- 9Ability to maintain professional relationships with patients and team
- 10Ability to operate a computer and basic office equipment with proficiency
