Certified Medical Assistant, Allergy & Immunology
Overview
You'll coordinate patient care with physicians, assist with allergy testing and injections, and manage administrative duties that advance patient care. This role offers direct patient interaction and skill development in Allergy Testing and Spirometry.
What You'll Do8
- 1Greet patients and escort them to exam rooms, prepare them for exams, and take vital signs.
- 2Perform Spirometry and other breathing tests as ordered by the physician.
- 3Administer allergy injections and perform prick or intradermal testing per physician orders, monitoring for adverse reactions.
- 4Document patient care in the medical record and call in prescriptions as directed.
- 5Prepare and maintain supplies, including sterilization of equipment, and maintain emergency equipment like oxygen and code kits.
- 6Answer patient calls, provide clinical guidance, and follow up on referrals and insurance authorizations.
- 7Maintain clinical supply stock and medication samples, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and practice policies.
- 8Complete required training programs including CPR, OSHA, and HIPAA within designated timeframes.
Requirements6
- 1High school diploma and CMA certificate required.
- 21+ year of clinical assisting experience.
- 3Proficiency with email, internet applications, practice management, and word processing software.
- 4Strong communication skills and a neat, professional appearance.
- 5Knowledge of EMR systems and allergy testing procedures.
- 6Ability to work onsite in Austin, Texas.
Salary Insight
$40 - $44k per year
