What You'll Do7
- 1Greet and check in patients with a warm, professional bedside manner at the front desk, setting the tone for each visit.
- 2Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments using Allergy Consultants PA's medical scheduling software, reducing no-shows and wait times.
- 3Answer multi-line phone calls, route inquiries, and document messages for clinical staff and physicians.
- 4Verify patient insurance eligibility in real time and process co-pays and billing details with precision.
- 5Maintain up-to-date patient records and charts in EMR/EHR systems, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- 6Coordinate referrals and prior authorizations with insurance providers, tracking statuses to prevent delays.
- 7Perform administrative duties such as filing, faxing, and managing correspondence to keep the office organized.
Requirements7
- 11+ years as a medical receptionist or administrative assistant in a healthcare setting preferred.
- 2Hands-on experience with EMR/EHR systems (e.g., eClinicalWorks, Athenahealth) and medical scheduling software.
- 3Working knowledge of insurance verification, co-pay processing, and prior authorization workflows.
- 4Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-first approach.
- 5Proven ability to multitask in a busy front-office environment without losing attention to detail.
- 6Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- 7High school diploma or equivalent required; medical administrative certification (e.g., CMAA) is a plus.
