Food Services Manager in Training, Long-Term Care
Overview
You will own the dietary department's daily operations at a long-term care facility, ensuring residents receive quality meals and service. You will train and supervise staff, manage schedules and budgets, and maintain compliance with ServSafe and CDM, CFPP standards. Working closely with the Food Services Director, you will lead quality dining programs and drive resident satisfaction. This role offers a path to management with hands-on training in a supportive environment.
What You'll Do9
- 1Lead quality dining programs alongside the Food Services Director to enhance the resident meal experience
- 2Train workers in procedures and proper operation and maintenance of kitchen equipment
- 3Supervise and evaluate the quality of work completed by department employees
- 4Plan work and staffing schedules to ensure adequate services and maintain proper staffing levels
- 5Maintain required records including inventory, compliance, income/expense, and personnel records
- 6Manage a cost-effective program to stay within budget
- 7Maintain excellent relations with residents, visitors, and all community departments
- 8Conduct quality assurance rounds and inspections to ensure current quality controls are suitable
- 9Promote and monitor resident satisfaction, and report monthly initiatives, goals, and accomplishments
Requirements9
- 1Associate's or higher degree in food service management or hospitality, including coursework in food service or restaurant management from an accredited institution
- 22+ years of food service supervisory experience, with long-term care experience preferred
- 3ServSafe Certification for Managers, Certified Dietary Manager or Certified Food Protection Professional (CDM, CFPP) per the Certifying Board for Dietary Managers
- 4Skilled in motivating and supervising staff members
- 5Excellent interpersonal skills, customer service, and quality attitude
- 6Ability to work under pressure and meet established goals and objectives
- 7Public speaking skills and excellent stress management, administrative, and organizational skills
- 8Ability to work all shifts as needed
- 9Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Windows-based office software
