Floor Care Technician, Healthcare & Senior Living Cleaning
Overview
Floor Care specialists maintain floors and common areas across a Rehabilitation building in a senior living community. You will support infection prevention and safety while creating a welcoming environment for residents, families, and staff. You will join a collaborative team focused on cleanliness, compassion, and care, with a consistent 2pm to 10pm schedule. This role balances independent work and teamwork in a healthcare setting.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build a clean, safe environment by performing daily floor cleaning including sweeping, mopping, buffing, and waxing in resident rooms and common spaces
- 2Operate floor care equipment safely such as buffers and auto-scrubbers to achieve professional results
- 3Empty trash, replace liners, and assist with bulk waste removal to maintain orderly areas
- 4Respond to housekeeping requests and incidents promptly to minimize disruption for residents
- 5Maintain cleanliness of utility and storage areas and assist with light maintenance or setup tasks
- 6Follow infection control and safety policies and report concerns to supervision
- 7Assist with room setups and moving furniture as part of daily workflows
- 8Communicate safety and maintenance concerns clearly to team leads
- 9Support the team in covering shifts when needed to maintain cleaning standards
- 10Document completed tasks and contribute to shift handovers for continuity
Requirements8
- 1High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- 2Prior experience in floor care, housekeeping, or environmental services in healthcare or senior living setting
- 3Ability to operate commercial floor care equipment
- 4Dependable and punctual with strong attention to detail
- 5Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- 6Friendly and professional demeanor with residents and staff
- 7Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods
- 8Onsite Detroit Michigan location with 2pm-10pm shift
