Floor Tech, Long-Term Care Facility Maintenance
Overview
You will own floor care at a long-term care facility, keeping resident rooms, common areas, and offices clean and safe. Using buffers and auto-scrubbers, you will strip, wax, and refinish floors to meet hygiene standards. You will join a dedicated facilities team reporting to the housekeeping supervisor, collaborating daily with nursing staff and residents. What You'll Do8
- 1Strip, wax, and buff floors in resident rooms, common areas, and offices using auto-scrubbers and burnishers.
- 2Operate floor machines safely, following all safety protocols and wearing appropriate PPE.
- 3Log daily floor care activities in the maintenance tracker, flagging equipment issues to the supervisor.
- 4Apply infection control policies by disinfecting surfaces and using color-coded microfiber cloths.
- 5Respond to spill calls within 10 minutes, setting up wet floor signs and cleaning the area.
- 6Assist with emergency cleaning of bodily fluids, using OSHA-approved disinfectants.
- 7Communicate with residents and staff to coordinate access to rooms, minimizing disruption.
- 8Support the team during inspections by preparing floors for state health surveys.
Requirements8
- 1High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 21+ year of floor care experience preferred, but will train the right candidate.
- 3Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and push/pull 50 pounds.
- 4Comfortable standing, bending, and walking for extended shifts.
- 5Must pass a background check and comply with COVID-19 vaccination policy.
- 6Able to work around food and cleaning chemicals without allergic reaction.
- 7Follow oral and written instructions with attention to detail.
- 8Residency within the Columbus, Ohio service area required.
