You'll own floor care for a long-term care facility in Tampa, maintaining safe, spotless surfaces across resident rooms, common areas, and offices. On a small facilities team, you'll run floor buffing and refinishing equipment daily, reporting to a supervisor who backs your growth. What You'll Do6
- 1Operate floor buffers, burnishers, and auto-scrubbers to clean, buff, and refinish floors in resident rooms, common areas, and offices.
- 2Strip and refinish VCT and terrazzo floors using floor finish and stripper, ensuring a high-gloss, slip-resistant surface.
- 3Inspect floors and equipment daily, troubleshooting minor equipment issues and reporting maintenance needs to the supervisor.
- 4Document floor care activities in the maintenance log, noting chemical usage and equipment hours.
- 5Follow infection control and universal precautions when handling cleaning chemicals and disposing of waste.
- 6Communicate with residents, staff, and guests to coordinate work and respond to service requests within 24 hours.
Requirements7
- 11+ years of floor care experience in healthcare or hospitality (preferred, but we'll train the right candidate).
- 2Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds and push/pull 50 pounds while operating floor equipment.
- 3Comfortable standing, bending, and walking for 8+ hours per shift, with repetitive motions.
- 4Willingness to work with cleaning chemicals and food products, following safety data sheets.
- 5Strong verbal and written communication to follow oral and written instructions.
- 6Positive attitude and customer-service focus when interacting with residents, staff, and leadership.
- 7Residency within the Tampa service area and compliance with COVID-19 vaccination policy.
