What You'll Do11

  • 1Lead and manage a 1st Grade classroom as the sole teacher modeling Islamic manners and character

  • 4Implement Fundations curriculum to develop phonemic awareness and early literacy skills
  • 5Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate lessons in math reading writing science and social studies
  • 6Follow pacing guides aligned with the local public school district for 2nd grade preparation
  • 7Integrate age-appropriate Islamic values into daily academic content
  • 8Use positive behavior guidance rooted in patience kindness and Islamic principles
  • 9Assess and document child development sharing progress with families regularly
  • 10Maintain a clean organized inviting classroom with prepared learning centers
  • 11Organize set up and put away materials before and after class

Requirements15

  • 1Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education Early Childhood Education or related field
  • 2Minimum 2 years of classroom experience teaching 1st Grade or early elementary grades
  • 3Strong knowledge of early literacy instruction phonics and developmentally appropriate practice
  • 4Ability to plan document and execute weekly lesson plans aligned with district pacing guides
  • 5Excellent classroom management skills with a calm structured presence
  • 6Patience warmth and genuine love for working with young children
  • 7Comfort with and respect for an Islamic learning environment
  • 8Ability to pass a background check and fingerprinting per NJ requirements
  • 9Physical ability to lift up to 40 lbs sit on the floor and remain active with young children
  • 10Current CPR and First Aid certification
  • 11Nice to have NJ Elementary K–6 teacher certification
  • 12Experience with Fundations or other Wilson Language programs
  • 13Familiarity with Brightwheel or similar parent communication platforms
  • 14Knowledge of New Jersey Student Learning Standards
  • 15Basic Arabic or Quran knowledge
