Infant Caregiver/Assistant Teacher, Early Childhood Education
Overview
You will own daily care for infants in a NJ-licensed classroom, ensuring safety and developmental support for up to 8 children. You will join a team of 4 caregivers and report to the Lead Teacher. This role offers direct mentorship in ECE best practices and a supportive family-friendly culture.
What You'll Do6
- 1Feed, diaper, and soothe infants during daily routines, tracking each child’s schedule.
- 2Support lead teachers in delivering age-appropriate activities that foster motor and cognitive growth.
- 3Document milestones and daily behaviors using BrightWheel software.
- 4Maintain a clean, hazard-free classroom that meets NJ licensing standards.
- 5Communicate daily updates with parents during drop-off and pick-up, building trust.
- 6Follow all health and safety protocols, including CPR and First Aid procedures.
Requirements6
- 11+ year of infant care or childcare experience, preferably in a licensed center.
- 2Knowledge of infant developmental milestones and ECE best practices.
- 3CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days).
- 4Pass a NJ background check and meet state licensing requirements.
- 5High school diploma or equivalent; Child Development Associate (CDA) credential preferred.
- 6Strong communication skills for team collaboration and parent interactions.
