Overview
You will own the elementary classroom at a private Sephardic Jewish day school in Great Neck, NY, teaching ELA, Math, and Social Studies to a class of eager learners. You will join a tight-knit faculty of 20 educators and report to the General Studies Principal. What You'll Do7
- 1Deliver differentiated, standards-aligned instruction in ELA, Math, and Social Studies, tailoring lessons to diverse learning styles.
- 2Design engaging, inquiry-based lessons that develop critical thinkers and curious learners, using Google Classroom and Seesaw for digital portfolios.
- 3Use data-driven strategies to personalize learning, analyzing formative assessments to adjust instruction weekly.
- 4Integrate educational technology to enhance engagement and 21st-century skill-building, including Smartboards and iPads.
- 5Cultivate an inclusive, culturally responsive classroom rooted in empathy and respect, celebrating Sephardic heritage and Jewish holidays.
- 6Collaborate with grade-level colleagues and specialists in a supportive professional learning community, co-planning cross-curricular units.
- 7Support the social-emotional development of students alongside academic growth, implementing Responsive Classroom techniques.
Requirements6
- 1Bachelor's degree in Education or related field (Master's preferred).
- 2NYS teaching certification or eligibility for certification.
- 32+ years experience with differentiated instruction in diverse elementary classrooms.
- 4Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills, evidenced by references.
- 5Growth mindset, positive attitude, and a collaborative spirit.
- 6Proficiency with edtech tools and digital learning platforms, such as Google Workspace and Nearpod.
