Overview

Own the financial infrastructure at Finch, a post-Series A legal tech company scaling 10x year-over-year. You will set up invoicing, banking, and cash/investment optimization, plus debt and credit strategy. Partner with the CEO and board on forecasting and spend decisions. This role builds the finance function from zero, with no team to start. Ideal for a strategic operator who thrives on speed and ownership.

What You'll Do7

  • 1Own end-to-end invoicing, banking, and cash/investment optimization, removing founder sign-off from routine finance ops.
  • 2Build and own debt and credit strategy, evaluating financing structures for post-Series B scaling.
  • 3Drive company-wide forecasting cycles with the CEO and exec team, making it a shared process.
  • 4Challenge spend and investment decisions across the company, pushing back when numbers don't hold up.
  • 5Set regulatory guardrails and financial controls that let a fast-moving startup stay compliant without slowing down.
  • 6Build systems and reporting infrastructure for confident financial decisions at scale.
  • 7Define the finance function's evolution as the company grows past this hire.

Requirements6

  • 15+ years in strategic finance or FP&A at a high-growth startup or similar.
  • 2Proven debt and credit fluency, or rapid ability to build it; essential post-Series B.
  • 3Direct ownership of invoicing, banking, and cash/investment optimization at a prior company.
  • 4Experience at senior manager or director level, ready to operate solo, or 2-3 years in M&A banking with early promotion.
  • 5Growth mindset, building systems for speed, not control for its own sake.
  • 6Comfort with real-time evaluation, including a live case component in the hiring process.
