Family Law Paralegal, Divorce & Custody
Overview
You will own family law case files from intake through resolution at a legal team in Wayne, Pennsylvania, handling sensitive domestic relations matters with accuracy and discretion. You will prepare court filings, manage discovery, and coordinate calendars for attorneys, working independently in a busy law firm setting. This contract-to-permanent role demands 5+ years of paralegal experience and deep familiarity with local Pennsylvania family law procedures across divorce, custody, and mediation. What You'll Do8
- 1Prepare, review, and submit family law pleadings and related court documents across applicable Pennsylvania counties.
- 2Maintain active case files from opening through conclusion, keeping records, correspondence, and materials organized.
- 3Communicate with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and outside parties to keep matters progressing.
- 4Monitor discovery schedules, gather required documentation, and assist with timely exchange of case materials.
- 5Assemble exhibits, hearing packets, trial binders, and other materials for court appearances.
- 6Coordinate service of process and track completion to support case deadlines.
- 7Manage attorney calendars, schedule case-related events, and prioritize upcoming deadlines.
- 8Support divorce, custody, and mediation cases by anticipating needs and facilitating workflow.
Requirements7
- 15+ years of paralegal experience focused on family law matters.
- 2Practical knowledge of court filings, pleadings, and procedural requirements within local Pennsylvania family law jurisdictions.
- 3Background handling cases related to divorce, custody, and mediation.
- 4Ability to manage multiple active matters with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- 5Strong written and verbal communication skills with a discreet approach.
- 6Experience working effectively in a busy law firm setting with limited supervision.
- 7Sound judgment, strong organizational skills, and a proactive approach to supporting attorneys and clients.
Salary Insight
