Overview
The Family and Health Advocate - Bilingual Cantonese leads trusting relationships and provides direct support to families across Chicago and suburbs. This role develops professional partnerships, evaluates needs, and ensures compliance with Head Start standards while fostering community engagement and family empowerment.
What You'll Do11
- 1Develop and maintain professional partnerships with administrative and teaching staff at assigned sites
- 2Evaluate needs and provide support to sites in meeting Head Start Program Performance Standards and PFA/PI requirements
- 3Build trusting relationships with families and provide ongoing support through monthly contact and home visits
- 4Implement attendance follow-up procedures and track immunization records
- 5Collaborate with teachers and instructional coaches to address developmental concerns
- 6Maintain accurate records in ChildPlus and complete site verification forms
- 7Coordinate parent committees and policy councils while organizing annual parent involvement activities
- 8Utilize ChildPlus for tracking timelines and manage community resource boards
- 9Participate in enrollment campaigns and conduct parent assessments
- 10Provide cultural sensitivity training and foster inclusive family engagement
- 11Ensure compliance with health screenings and advocate for child wellness
Requirements8
- 1Bachelor's degree in social work or related field with 5+ years experience
- 2Associate's degree with 1+ year experience in social services or early childhood education
- 3Bilingual English-Cantonese proficiency preferred
- 4Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- 5Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Teams
- 6Ability to work flexible hours including evenings
- 7Vehicle for regular site visits and home visits
- 8Familiarity with Head Start program requirements and documentation systems
Salary Insight
