Overview
You own facility upkeep for a manufacturing plant, overseeing daily repairs, HVAC, plumbing, lighting, docks, and grounds to keep operations running. You lead a team of janitorial and maintenance staff, coordinate vendors and contractors, and drive safety compliance. Your work directly supports production uptime and a hazard-free environment. This role stands out for its hands-on supervision and cross-functional coordination.
What You'll Do8
- 1Oversee daily facility maintenance, including HVAC, plumbing, lighting, docks, and grounds, to ensure operational readiness.
- 2Monitor facility condition and coordinate preventive maintenance for systems and equipment.
- 3Respond to facility service requests within 24 hours, resolving issues to minimize downtime.
- 4Supervise facility staff and contractors, assigning work and enforcing safety protocols.
- 5Coordinate with vendors for HVAC repairs, janitorial services, landscaping, and waste removal, obtaining quotes and scheduling visits.
- 6Conduct safety inspections and audits, documenting hazards and corrective actions.
- 7Maintain records of repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance, tracking recurring issues.
- 8Support seasonal needs like snow removal and heating/cooling adjustments to maintain climate control.
Requirements8
- 13+ years supervising facility operations in a manufacturing environment.
- 2Hands-on experience with HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical, and building maintenance.
- 3Strong knowledge of OSHA safety standards and regulatory compliance.
- 4Proven ability to manage vendors and contractors, including bid review and work verification.
- 52+ years leading a team of maintenance or janitorial staff.
- 6Proficiency with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) for work orders and records.
- 7Valid driver's license and ability to respond to urgent facility issues after hours.
- 8High school diploma or equivalent; EPA 608 certification preferred.
