Overview

As Facilities Manager at Union Square Hospitality Group, you will own safe, well-maintained restaurants across our portfolio. You'll split time 20% hands-on and 80% with vendor partners, ensuring capital projects and maintenance run on time. You will interface with operational staff to plan immediate and future needs. This role spends most time in restaurants, with limited office time, and requires off-hours support for emergencies.

What You'll Do9

  • 1Support a culture of Enlightened Hospitality across all locations.
  • 2Perform maintenance tasks such as painting, patching, small plumbing and HVAC repairs, and carpentry repairs.
  • 3Review locations proactively to identify current and future maintenance needs before they become emergencies.
  • 4Manage capital improvement projects from understanding operational needs through soliciting vendor quotes and overseeing execution.
  • 5Ensure facilities are in code and regulatory compliance with local agencies.
  • 6Monitor vendor and contractor performance, ensuring prompt service intervals and quality of work.
  • 7Communicate with operations staff for in-house maintenance issues and coordinate repairs with contracted services.
  • 8Provide on-site support for internal operators or external vendors, including off-hours or weekend visits for emergencies.
  • 9Maintain positive working relationships with operational staff and leadership at each USHG restaurant.

Requirements10

  • 12-3 years of Facilities Management experience or equivalent construction project management or trade experience.
  • 2Previous experience in trades such as plumbing, carpentry, electrical, or handiwork is strongly preferred.
  • 3Ability to lift 50 lb and work in tight places.
  • 4Ability to perform light maintenance repairs.
  • 5Computer knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • 6Diplomatic communication skills with a high level of integrity.
  • 7Prior management experience is a plus, excelling in planning, organizing, directing, and controlling.
  • 8Proficient knowledge of systems and processes in operations.
  • 9Ability to demonstrate discretion and leadership in complex employee relations matters.
  • 10Ability to embody, teach, and inspire USHG Beliefs.
